What We Evaluate To Understand Your Child
Every evaluation is individualized and designed to understand how your child's communication, language, and learning systems work together in everyday life.
Language & Communication:
Late talking, language development, receptive and expressive language, social communication, and academic language skills.
Speech Sound Development:
Articulation, phonological patterns, and speech intelligibility.
Literacy & Learning:
Reading, decoding, fluency, comprehension, spelling, and written language.
Regulation & Processing:
Attention, sensory regulation, engagement, language processing, and neurodivergent communication profiles.
By looking at these areas together, we can identify not just what your child is struggling with but why, and what will help them move forward.
Our Assessment Process
This is a structured, multi-session evaluation designed to give you a clear and meaningful understanding of your child. Our process is grounded in evidence-based speech-language pathology, neurodevelopmental understanding, and relationship-based care. The focus is not just standardized scores, but how communication shows up in your child’s real life.

Consultation
We begin with a free consultation to understand your concerns and determine the most appropriate evaluation.
We also gather information about your child’s history, your family’s priorities, and any previous assessments or services.

Multi-Session Evaluation
Assessments are completed over at least two sessions (typically 90 minutes each) to allow for deeper observation across contexts.
We use a combination of:

Play-based or dynamic assessment (younger children)

Literacy-based assessment (when appropriate)
This allows us to understand your child beyond structured testing and capture how they communicate in real-world contexts.

Review & Plan
You receive a detailed report and a clear explanation of findings.
We review results together and discuss practical recommendations based on your child’s needs.
Together, we identify the most appropriate next steps, which may include therapy, parent coaching, school support, or additional evaluation.

Reports are designed to support coordination with pediatricians, psychologists, educators, and therapy teams when needed.
We work within a collaborative model of care. No formal diagnosis is required to begin support.
Our goal is to ensure your child receives the right understanding and the right next steps wherever they are in the system.

Evaluations are offered as comprehensive packages that reflect the depth of clinical time, interpretation, and reporting involved.
In some cases, services may be eligible for insurance coverage depending on your plan. This will be reviewed during your initial consultation.
