Structured Literacy & Dyslexia Intervention

Building strong readers through language-literacy connection using Orton-Gillingham based multisensory, structured literacy intervention approaches

Reading is not a natural process, it MUST be explicitly taught. When the right approach is missing, children can fall behind despite being bright and capable

Is reading becoming a struggle for your child?

If you are here, you may already be feeling it, that "quiet" concern during homework time everyday! You know your child is bright but reading isn't clicking!

You may recognize one of more of these in your child:

  • The Guessor: Looks at the first letter of a word or picture and guesses instead of decoding.

  • The Disconnect: Strong oral/ verbal speaking skills, excellent story telling but difficulty with reading and writing

  • The Fatigue: Reading feels exhausting leading to shutdown, avoidance or frustration

  • Avoidance: Resistance, distraction or acting out during reading

  • The spelling mystery: the same word spelled multiple ways or difficulty with spelling inspite of repeated practice

These are not phases that your child simply "outgrows", they are signs that your child needs explicit structured support

Why some children struggle to learn to read?

Reading requires the brain to "recycle" existing neural systems for sound(phonology), visual processing (orthography) and language (comprehension) through a process called "neural recycling". When these systems do not integrate efficiently, children may struggle with decoding, reading fluency and reading comprehension

That is why explicit reading intervention is essential

What we support?

  • Dyslexia and language-based reading impairments

  • Phonics and decoding challenges

  • Reading fluency and reading comprehension difficulties

  • Early literacy skills ( for preschool and KG students) includes KG readiness skills

Our Approach

1

Regulation First

Learning cannot happen when a child is dysregulated or overwhelmed.

We first support:

  • sensory regulation

  • attention and engagement

  • readiness for learning

Because when a child feels regulated, they are more available for language, learning, and reading.

2

Language-Literacy Connection

Reading is built on language.

As SLPs,  we focus on how children process and use language to support reading development. We target:

  • oral language foundations

  • sound–letter mapping

  • vocabulary and comprehension

This ensures children develop both the skills to read and the ability to understand what they read.

3

Explicit Instruction

We explicitly teach reading skills such as decoding, phonics, morphology, and reading fluency using structured literacy approaches, including Orton-Gillingham based frameworks.

Lessons are carefully planned and individualized, following a clear step-by-step progression so your child can build skills with confidence and consistency.

Beyond Tutoring: Evidence-Based Mutlisensory Literacy Intervention

We provide more than reading support. We deliver structured, individualized, multi-sensory literacy intervention grounded in the Science of Reading.

Our clinical framework is rooted in Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading. We utilize evidence-based tools including UFLI Foundations, IMSE Orton-Gillingham, and SPELL-Links to target specific reading gaps.

Intervention is further customized using the Barton Reading & Spelling scope and sequence, adapted to each child’s unique learning profile and skill needs.

This approach is led by a PhD-level Speech-Language Pathologist and Literacy Specialist (Dr. Gayatri Ram) and is designed around each child’s unique learning and language profile.

We do not use a one-size-fits-all model. Every child receives individualized, profile-driven intervention focused on long-term literacy independence and not short-term academic patchwork.

This is not tutoring. It is clinical, structured literacy intervention.
